Breakdown

Breakdown

Looking over edge,

Waiting for to be pushed

Brain turned to mush.

No appetite,

Exhaustion,

Wanting to choke.

Tired of breathing…

How much more can one take?

Is this suffering karma’s justice?

Or I am carried by powerful current towards rapids..drowning?

When does God say we have endured enough?

Please…please…make it stop.

So tired…

It creeps up like a thief,

Stealing what’s good and holy,

Sucking the marrow from our bones,

Breakdown.

  1. Exhaustion begs for rest,
And guard that rest against those who judge
If a stranger faint from thirst arrives at your door
Do you not move quick to bring icy water to their lips?
Why should your thirst go ignored?
In times of plenty ponder karma
In times of hardship ponder love
In times of good and holiness we’re filled
For the times when we’re sucked dry
And to ask God ‘When is enough, enough?’
    Frustrations will be an answer
    Don’t forget. Just trust.

  2. The Enfant Terrible

Harrowing, personal and honest… Again, a feeling I can relate to. As you have said, we are all too similar!

  3. Thank you! I am glad that you are finding something you can relate to here. Unfortunately, the experience of being driven to the point of a nervous breakdown, and having to fight your way back from that is all too common. As I continue to work on recovery it sometimes staggers me how many have felt the same way.
