Beloved: A Rose Waiting in the Bud
Some start off in life without kin to cheer their dreams,
their victories are even more heroic than
those who come from a space of comfort
you who held the candle for me in the darkness
May I do the same for you, Beloved?
I am only a few steps in front of you on the road.
your songs and words are neither mute nor amateur
in darker days they were the source of smiles and comfort
heart holds answers that formula or medicine cannot
we are both impermanent and eternal
it’s a riddle to most what is really so simple
you lovingly tended my soil amidst its reeking stench
may I nourish your own as I can see a bud
that hides the most fragrant and beautiful rose within
