Distracted Busyiness

Buzz…buzz..she’s a little bee

without flowers or fruit

Little lost queen bee

creating hive after hive

one rung on a totem pole

looking down from a too high place

feeling stuck far away…in outer space

mother to all the drones who obey

never questioning perpetual activity

or tiny taste gained of their honey

work…work…work…work…work

distracted busyness then Death.

    1. I have often wondered if as a modern society that perhaps we are too uncomfortable with stillness. It is almost like we keep ourselves busy to fill up the voids in our lives. You are very welcome and thank you for your very thoughtful comment. It is a great compliment when something I wrote provoked thought.
